What we design for Amsterdam is shaped by the housing stock: tall, narrow, and rarely straight.
The staircase decides the design
In the Jordaan and De Pijp, stairwells are often too narrow and too steep for assembled cabinetry; for centuries, furniture came in through the window on the hoisting beam. Flat-pack changes that maths: every panel is sized to be carried up a narrow Amsterdam stairwell by hand, no hoist, no crane permit.
Pre-war walls lean, on purpose-ish
Much of Amsterdam stands on wooden piles, and a century of settling means pre-war walls can lean centimetres out of plumb. Our designs carry a scribe allowance on every wall-facing edge so cabinets can be planed flush on site. New-build areas like IJburg are far more forgiving, but we keep the allowance anyway.

Amsterdam carpenter rates are among the highest in the Netherlands, and inner-city jobs carry extra costs the quote rarely itemizes: parking permits, load-zone windows, and two site visits.
