Two alcoves, never the same width
The classic London brief is a pair of alcoves either side of a chimney breast, in Hackney, Islington, or Clapham terraces. The two alcoves in one room routinely differ by several centimetres. We measure and design each side independently rather than mirroring one design across both.
Skirting, picture rails, cornicing
Victorian and Edwardian rooms come with tall skirting boards, picture rails, and cornicing that cabinetry has to negotiate. Designs account for skirting cut-outs and stop heights below rails or cornices, so the built-in looks original to the room instead of parked against it.
London prices, honestly compared
